Senior High Campout

The retreat was a blast! And now we are super tired in this household. Definitely did not get much sleep Friday night but it was worth it. I love spending time with these students.
Our schedule of FUN...
10:45 - carve pumpkins
11:45 - take a hayride
1am - put in movie
3:30 - girls to bed!!
And in between all of that we danced, played corn toss & frisbee, fished, and overall had a delightful time. It was great!

Taste and see that the Lord is good

Quick Trip

Yesterday after work, Richard and I headed to the farm to help the Joneses get ready for Dr. Jones' office party. It was a quick trip but nice to be at the farm during the week. Richard was called in to fix some steps and I went along to help Ginger. I also enjoyed taking pictures out there. Ginger can throw an awesome party. Someday I hope to decorate and celebrate like her!

Might I take a moment to brag on my husband. I told yall he is a handyman and an awesome one! The garden box above was his very first project...maybe he built that when he was in 10th grade? not sure about the exact time.
The summer after our freshman year of college, he built the porch and outdoor shower.
The stairs to the screened porch that needed to be fixed.
The next project was the shed and soon after both leantos were added!
During the fall, you will find all the guys watching football outside! When the game is not going so well it is nice for them to have their own place OUTSIDE :):)

I absolutely LOVE this place!

Tonight we have our Senior High Retreat! We have lots of fun planned. I'll be back to share the pictures from the weekend!

All Knowing

O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are aquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold,  O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.
Psalm 139:1-6

i have always loved this passage. How comforting it is to know that the Lord knows all of my thoughts even before I speak them...he understands me and still loves me despite my sinfulness. How amazing!

Muffin Treats

I made these Pumpkin Chocolate Chip muffins the other night for some very special people.

I got the recipe from a friend's food blog, literally, a spoonful. I love food blogs and have made several things from Sarah Barry's food blog. Check her blog for some great ideas!
So on to the reason for making the muffins....
First, mom and dad made their way to Knoxville, TN today to spend the weekend. Who wouldn't want to take pumpkin muffins to the mountains? My dad will be spending Saturday night here at Neyland Stadium cheering on the Tide!
Second, Jen and Faisal moved to MONTGOMERY!! Yesterday, I saw them at their new apartment and took over a small bag of muffins. I could not be more excited to live in the same town again with Jen. I was 18 the last time we lived in the same place.

Tomorrow I'm going to get a jump start on my Christmas shopping (or maybe not for Christmas shopping) by attending the Holiday Market sponsored by the Junior League of Montgomery. I love stuff like the Holiday Market and have been looking forward to it all week :)

One Last Fling Before The Ring

I spent the past weekend in Birmingham for Erin's Bachelorette party. She is getting married exactly ONE MONTH from today! I am so excited for her and Neal, and I am especially excited she is not moving away. We ate at Cocina Superior on Friday night. It is delicious and their Margaritas are some of the best.

Oh, the fun we have together!
Saturday we headed to Homewood to eat at Urban Cookhouse. The weather was delightful as we sat outside for lunch.

A Good Monday

I love my job. I'm thankful to be at Trinity loving on 7th-12th grade girls. My favorite part is getting to hang out with the girls, but when they are in school my time with them is limited. Well today one of my girls was out for teacher in service...Yippee! That means we planned a little road trip to Auburn to visit friends! We spent the majority of our time at Town Creek Park walking and enjoying the weather. Also, we visited Big Blue for lunch and Chill for dessert. What a wonderful time we had.

Vacation

Get ready this is a long one and a week late but enjoy.

I took a whole week off work and had the grandest time! It was a much needed break, and I enjoyed every minute. I started the week off with a trip down to Mobile to visit the Gannon's. Bethany is one of my closest friends from Auburn and it was good for my soul to be with her. I traveled back on Tuesday, which happened to be Birthday! It was a great day. I went to lunch with Richard's grandmother and both of our families went to dinner to celebrate. Right before leaving  for dinner there was a knock at the door. I opened it to find my small group girls there with a huge card and cupcake. They are incredible! I celebrated Wednesday at El Ray with some friends too. Thanks for all the text, phone calls, and celebrating!

Can you tell from the card that they are ready for me to have a baby? Don't worry they know they have to wait a few more years.

Dinner at Sal's - a new pizzeria in town.

Tripp loves birthdays. He gets to unwrap presents and blow out candles!

My week off ended perfectly with a trip to the beach.
My favorite place. The weather was perfect. I'm starting to think October is the BEST time to go to the beach. Richard and I went with Steve, Jill, and Anne Wesley. I suggest we start a tradition and go back next year and every year as we are able.

I was very glad to get some good time with Anne Wesley. Rich and I love our niece.

Richard and Steve threw the frisbee while Jill and I layed out. I played with Rich for a little while but was thankful that Steve took my place.

At the Red Bar. Our favorite place to eat on 30-A.

My parents & Tripp were at the beach the same weekend spending time with my mom's sisters. I meet them for breakfast one morning and snapped a few pics of Tripp enjoying his donut!

Sunday on our way out of town, we met Kathryn and Wesley for lunch at The Back  Porch. It was a great end to our trip.  Kat & Wesley, thanks for coming to meet us!

Amazing. I wish I could see a sunset like this every night. Oh, how it reminds me of the Father's love and the work of his hands.

I spent the past weekend in Birmingham with close friends celebrating Erin before she ties the knot in November. I'll be back soon with pictures. Thanks for reading.

Loving October

Top reasons why I LOVE October -  1.Fall is here 2. The weather is perfect 3. It's my birthday month & mom's too 4. Football Saturdays 5.Pumpkin everything 6. Boots & scrafs. 7.Leaves changing 8. Soups & stews 9. The Farm is perfect

I did a little fall decorating last week. Pumkins on the front door steps, on the mantel & dining room table. I also got a cinnamon broom from Publix. Our house smells wonderful! You should go get one.

Here We Go Again!

I'm going to try this blog thing again. Hopefully, I will be able to keep it going. Richard got me a Canon Rebel for my birthday and I AM SO EXCITED! One reason to start the blog again is to share pictures. I am clueless as how to use it beyond auto mode but that's OK with me right now :)
